The focus of The Ateliers Photograph Collection is based on the work of Zagreb photo studios, that is, photographers (immigrant and local photographers) who worked in Zagreb. Beginning with the oldest atelier in Zagreb (from around 1855), the first full-time Zagreb photographer Franjo Daniel Pommer, who came from Denmark, work of numerous photo studios in Zagreb is observed (eg: Julius Hühn, Ivan Standl, Ludwig Schwoiser, Ferdo Kelemen, Hinko Krapek, ...).
The Collection also stores rare specimens of photographs created using the oldest photographic techniques, ranging from daguerreotypes, to calotypes, ambrotypes and ferrotypes.
The collection is alphabetically classified by author and type of material.
